After we returned from the Elizabeth House trip we had an early tea. Hot chook ripped up, ham, tomatoe, cheese and so on. Some made sandwiches. I just had mine without bread.
We drove in and parked in the street right next to Luna Pk. ~$12 in the parking meter. It was 5pm and Luna Pk closes at 9pm. Paid for parking till 9:30.
Took the requisite family snap in the mouth.
You can actually walk around inside and look at pretty much everything without paying. We had bought 4 tickets online for •$46 ea. 10% saving. James had one of those coupon books that gave him 25% off but you had to buy in person. All of those transactions were concluded inside the gate and we were issued with bar coded wrist bands.
First up was the ferris wheel. This have a nice overview.
Next was the "Rotor". This is one of the old rides. Its a huge barrel. We stood inside with our backs to the wall. The barrel spun up pressing us against the inside. The floor dropped away and we stayed pinned to the wall. When i tried to move my hands they naturally felt very heavy. When I moved my head the view / feelind was weird.
Dodgems. What would a fun park be without dodgems. I shared one with Megan. Most of the kids each wanted to be on their own.
Coney island was pretty similar to my 1973 memories. Some electronic arcade games have been added and there are supervisors everywhere.
On the way out noticed the parking inspector watching our car.
Got home and an eating orgy was undertaken. Toast followed by ice-cream.
