Dash Cam Polaraisation

I installed a new dashcam in the craptiva.  Checked the recording and observed reflections.  Stuck some polarising film over the lenses.

Front camera at the top.  Rear camera at the bottom.

On the left is no polarising.  On the right is with polarising film.

Security Cameras

I need to put security cameras up as Lucy is coming to stay for a couple of weeks and if she jumps the fence, I need to know where.

I would like to use software that can connect to cameras from a range of manufacturers.  Rather than a dedicated system in a box.

Raspberry Pi Below

Anycam
5-NOV-2024 Update: They now claim to have an app and also pricing of US$49 through US$65 for a lifetime buy
Downloaded and installed the free 1 camera version.
Likewise the android app.  Followed the instructions and did the connection thing.
All seemed to work.  Got a thumb nail.  Clicked on it and screen went black and eventually said "server error".
I note on the main install, it keeps getting a disconnect watermark and then it reconnects.

https://anycam.io/                 No App  CANT VIEW EVEN WITH BROWSER
I dont think it can push off site to the cloud.
at least these guys are upfront honest on their front page with pricing
4 cameras $43 ( USD I assume).  8 cameras is $54
I can connect to the cameras using RTSP.
To set when to record, start the application then
Click bottom right "view Recordings"
Then the icon with 3 sliders "Change Settings"
Click the recording tab and wallah Choose "Start Recording" ...
On motion is not available on the free version and  there does not seem to be an AI find people or even better dogs option.
Records in MP4 format.

AGENTDVR    ISPY is the flagship name but what other options are there.  Ispy shows up all over the internet along with words like open source but it is discontinued and also they direct you to use a program called agentDVR.  Subscription is $70/yr for 1pc and cloud services (I wonder if that it storage and I wonder how many cameras)

It runs but even with one camera, I am getting the CPU at near 100%.

UNINSTALL:  AgentDVR does not appear in ControlPanel>Programs and features.
https://www.ispyconnect.com/userguide-agent-dvr.aspx
Windows: double click agent-uninstall-service.bat in the C:/Program Files/Agent directory. Right click and quit the AgentTray application in the task bar.
To remove Agent DVR just delete the Agent directory (it is a portable application so doesn't install into the add/remove programs list in Windows). By default Agent DVR is installed to C:\Program Files\Agent on Windows.

Blue Iris,
$122.30AUD upto 64 cameras

We seem to be at 100%CPU even with only 2 cameras.

I thought I had set to record continuously but only seem to have motion record.

Two cameras but I do not see two timelines

Cant get the PTZ to work on the reolink camera

Video files stored in a custom format with a .bvr extension.

I am finding it hard to know if the screen is showing live view or playback. - OK both (presumably all) playback together.

Camcloud
Not a PC program.  Cameras direct to cloud.  Hmm. And no pricing.

ivideon
Not sure if this is a PC product.  They mention a "Bridge" which maybe a gateway to cloud processing.

ManyCam
I dont think this is a security camera recording app.

Pricing depends on number of cameras AND resolution.  $79/yr for 2 devices whatever that is and 50 sources at 4k

Milestone,
I suspect for big customers

NETCAM STUDIO
https://www.netcamstudio.com/
Free: 2 Cameras.  Watermark.
$USD49  : 4 cameras No watermark.
$US75     : 16 Cameras
$US99     :  64 Cameras
Both the concord and reolink cameras connect but I keep getting drop outs as if there are packet errors.
Cant work out how to control the reolink PTZ
There is no app on the playstore but I see an app on their web page.
Their web page indicates it can interface with drop box and google drive.
I cant work out how to replay videos or how to allocate disk space or even where the video is stored.

Digital WatchDog, r

Perfect Surveillance
No info that I can find on pricing.
There seem to be three separate products - viewer, recorder  & ?

Sighthound Video,

Security Eye
It does not say anywhere I can find on their web page what the costs are.
Ahh but now a pop up that says "you are using a trial version of security eye"
Limited to two hours per session...
1 camera is $67 AUD, 2 is $84, 8 is $151.
In any case, I could not get it to accept video from a Concord camera even though I explicitly defined the RTSP stream and using exactly the same stram could view it on VLC.

SecuritySpy,
For MAC

Synology,
Note sure what this is

QNAP,

IP Cam Viewer,

TinyCam,

Evocam, etc.

XEOMA
http://felenasoft.com/xeoma/en   8 cameras $190
Free updates for a year.  Plus I think there is a small per month charge for remote access.

YouCam
I do not think this is a security camera recorder.  I think it processes your video between the cameras an zoom/teams

ZONEMINDER.COM
Claims free and open source and you are in control of your data.  Hmm sounds too good to be true.  lets see.   And it's for Linux.  And they have a pricing page so I am not sure how free it is.

CONCORD CNC51DPA
ERROR:
The plugin does not support this browser.
Please use the following browser:
1.  Internet Explorer 8 and above.
2. Firefox 51 and below.
3.  Google Chrome 44 or lower.

Now I think I have seen this before.
Possibly need NPAPI plug in which I think is Flash and was removed around V53
my firefox is version 110

================================

A REPLACEMENT CAMERA

jaycar have a 7 day returns policy and so I took back the camera that would not work and got a new one.  Different part number and $50 more expensive.

IPSCAN to find it's IP address then use the browser.

Click "Advanced" even though in this universe, we know next to nothing.

Then click accept the risk.

Then it seemed to get stuck.  Rebooted the PC and it starts to behave logically.

Now we failed to connect with "Security Eye" so figured we would diverge a bit and test making a RTSP connection and it worked.  Opened on VLC using rtsp://10.0.0.102:554/ch01/0

RASPERRY PI

https://github.com/geerlingguy/pi-nvr

Shinobi is an Open Source CCTV solution that will install on that raspberry PI device and use it as a NVR software solution
Except there are charges for some aspects.

https://www.pinvr.net/  Free for personal use.  NOT Available.  No files for download.

MotionEyeOS
https://github.com/motioneye-project/motioneyeos/wiki

Nx Witness or Nx Meta for Raspberry Pi - No idea about pricing.

Zoneminder - On PI seems hard.  I would have thought someone would have built a image.

Moonfire NVR
https://github.com/geerlingguy/pi-nvr  - Does not seem to have a integrated image available.

OS-NVR

GIT HUB
When I went to download the motion eye image, it was in format .img.xz
I wonder what that is.  Looks like 7-zip on windows can extract it.

Cyst

Way way back. Last year I think.  I felt a hard lump in my right cheek.

Went and saw one of those skin cancer people where you pay them $75 and take your clothes off and they look at you and pronounce no cancer.   When I drew his attention to the lump, he said not cancer.

Not feeling particularly confident in that,  I booked a second appointment at another skin mob.  I think I tried my GP but was told weeks of wait time but can't be sure on that. 2nd skin cancer fellow also took $75 to say "not my problem".
photo 26 Jan - not even visible
Waited a week until birthday party done.  The thing was at this stage barely visible.
photo 29 Jan- not visible

Attempted to book GP. My fellow was booked up for weeks.   Asked if anyone available sooner. Made booking.  Tried oxley and they were booked up for a couple of weeks too.

MON 6 FEB 2022 GP $91.44
TUE 7 FEB 2023 Ultrasound (Bulk Billed)
Thur 9 FEB -2023 GP
FRI 10 FEB 2023 Dermatologist
The dermatologist booked me into a plastic surgeon for Thursday 23rd.  That was weeks away.
Called some friends and got two irons in the fire but they both ended up at the same "rooms".  I suspect I got gazumped a bit because negotiation began via the secretary with one of the plastic surgeons but seemed to get stuck.
Gave up on that and decided an  alternative approach was needed.
By now it was large and painful.  A dull throbbing pain.

TUE 14 went the "emergency care" place at indooroopilly. They were about to actually do something when I remembered I was rowing in the morning.
WED 15
went rowing. Then breakfast. Then straight over to
Mater public emergency.
This took all day with another ultrasound.  Could not get anyone to Lance it.   Went home. Significant dull throbbing pain.

THUR 16
got up 6 and made breakfast. Reheated leftover cottage pie with a couple of fried eggs.  Lots of water.
7am no eating or drinking allowed.
Lying in bed.  Feel face damp.  Got b up and looked in mirror.
Two tick gooey brown and white rivers of puss and blood.
Located the isopropyl alcohol. Could not find tissues so had to use toilet paper drenched in iso. Gently, very gently dabbed and wiped away the goo.  Very gently pressed to squeeze out a bit more.  Lots of iso.

Took train to Southbank via roma St.
Plastic surgeon stuck in needles and did stuff. Left with bandage.

FRI 17 FEB 2023
3am awake
Aching calves and to a lesser degree thighs. Also top of ankles
Movement helps. reaction to local anaesthetic?

7am cat is fed. Lying on my bed purring. Sun is shining.
I'm wasting time watching fb video crap.
Slight headache.
Feeling down. The old lonely thing. No forgiveness. No understanding. Selfishness? Gotta get beyond this.

Breakfast of fruit on the deck chatting with Chris.
Took magnus for a walk.
8am

Train to Roma Street.  Changed.  Train to Southbank. This is the old vulture St station.  They should keep the old name.  Far more unique.

9:50am I have appointment #2 at the plastic surgeon. Where assistant Emma will remove yesterday's bandage. Presumably replace with a clean one.

Feeling a bit blurr. Stopped for a coffee at the coffee club. Risky as my experience with coffee clubs has not been the best.

Tinnie Lights

Last year I fixed a few tinnie lights at Centenary.  This year may have to freshen a few of them.  Thought I would consider costs.

Government regulations require
Red and Green lights up the front.
White light above the head hight of the driver visible 360 degrees.

EST COST - IF Central 12V battery
An alternative is separate battery powered lights

Red Green Nav Lights - Ebay $10
White telescopic - BCF $60
Battery 7AH 12 - Jaycar $35
Lunch Box $10
Wire and waterproof switch - Jaycar $20
Charger - Jaycar $40
Total $175

Research.
BCF sell the 360 deg white light for the same or similar price to ebay. but their red and green LED lights are  very expensive

LED NAVIGATION LIGHTS

Last year I bought off Amazon but Amazon don't accept pay pal and Ebay were cheaper this time

Coffee with Marcus at HSW

Not much parking at Howard Smith wharves so Parked kangaroo pt and took escooter as usual.

Shared location with Marcus who reciprocated.  Rode along the over water walk way until we met.  I rode back and he ran.

Coffee and chat river side.

A good by [sweaty :) ]hug and handshake.
