15/5 Rize car return

In Rize and the clock is ticking.  We are upstairs in a somewhat western coffee shop.  There are two things on the docket:
1 find a hotel.
2 return car.
Google maps shows a couple of hotels in walking distance. It's raining and we walk to the nearest. It looks a bit like a rooming house so onto the next. It turns out to be satisfactory. The front door is just that and stairs that go up.
Reception is smooth and a young man is waiting eagerly to carry our bags.

We advise with the usual hand waving that we are parked in a nearby underground car park. The fellow follows.

We locate the car and the fellow insists on driving.  A side effect is that when we approach the exit,  an animated exchange and it appears we are let out without paying.

At a corner, near the hotel, we double park the way locals do and basically chuck everything out of the car onto the footpath.

I then took the car and headed towards the Budget office.  When I get a moment, when the traffic is less frantic, I recover a previous search for car washes.  Following google maps I arrive at the car wash. I'd searched for automatic car washes but this looked DIY.  Entered and met a fellow who explained that for 400TL AU$20 he'd clean my car.

And boy did he do a good job.
The whole hog. Vacuumed the inside. Soaped and pressure washed the outside. Spray stuff on the windows inside and outside.

Then off to get petrol. First place was cash only so off to a second.

Finally ready to return the car and running about half an hour late.

The budget fellow was expecting me. Maybe not a lot of returns?

I got some cash from a nearby machine and the budget fellow called a cab.

The cab fellow despite being told by the budget fellow and being shown by me a screen shot of the hotels address, called a mate and drove past it.  I got google maps out and showed him the red tear drop. He dismissed it. Did this several times and we arrived at the Remada inn. Finally he accepted the issue and we used my google maps to get to the hotel.

As a funny aside, the taxi driver had four little globe compasses suctioned to the wind screen. Maybe navigation is a known issue.
