Yesterday I was quite crook with a cold. Runny nose and so on. Today we are told that we can not drive to the ruins of Ephasus because of a bike race.

It's sport that stops the nation.
Our hotel manager told us we would not be able to travel today because the roads are closed for the bike race.
Well blow me over if it's not stage 6 of the Tour of Türkiye.
Over night this stage and all the associated tents and tech has turned up.
The roads really are blocked. Big and small roads.
It amazed me. Before arriving I thought everything would stop on their day of worship (friday) but no. It's exercise.
On our last day in Istanbul, roads were closed for the Istanbul marathon. Today we are unable to be driven to the ruins at Ephasus because of a cycle race.
