Some of our rowing boat lights have died.
I previously bought new rechargeable NiMH batteries from Aldi and installed them.
The lights are sealed with silastic against water ingress.
Upon opening, it was obvious that a battery had probably leaked. The other possible option was that some silastic release acetic acid.
The circuit boards are corroded and beyond repair.
Visually a couple of the batteries have a brown mark near the positive terminal. It looks to me like the acid leaked out there.
The question is why?
Options I can think of are:
1 Dodgy batteries.
2 Over charging.
