Frank & Dan Rugby
Well we're at Suncorp watching rugby. I think we may be sitting amongst the SA supporters. A large proportion seemed to sing along to a rousing rendition of the SA national anthem. We then collectively struggled through the Aussie one giving ourselves a hearty round of applause for making it through the first verse without forgetting too many words and collapsing in to our chairs in relief.
Luckily the Aussies put the ball down just Infront of us and that showed those SA supporters what for.

Dad - daughter night
We sit on random tables and meet some people for the first time.
It's a music quizz night.
The people running it are very talented. A team of 4. The mc fellow who is out in the audience with a radio mic. A very musical girl who sings from time to time. A celebration a fellow with a fancy keyboard / replay setup and the sound operator.
Pondering this night. It is a great evening. It's loud and lively. In a way it appears to take me out of my comfort zone. But it's an illusion because we can sit and chat. The extraverts can put their hands up to get on stage.
I correctly recognised ACDC long way to the top.
A multiple guess question "what year was Elton John's Rocket Man released" options were
A 1960 something
B 1972
C1979
D 1983 (ish I think)
I figured 1972 because that was when the space race was on. It's also a song that is in my opinion about drugs and escaping from real life. But I was unsure and didn't argue my case and the team settled on 1979
A fun twist at the end. The mc appeared to forget to award the winners with their box of chocolates. He then got the winners and wooden spooners up front for a dance off. He emphasized it was an opportunity for the last place getters to steal the first place prize and the real winners would go home with nothing. The dance off was judged by the volume of applause. Naturally the losers were awarded the first prize and then he deftly whipped out a second first place box of chocolates so everyone went home happy.
