Setting up X1 Thinkpad

 I have bought a second hand ThinkPad X1 Yoga 3rd Generation.

Turn on wifi and connect to network.
Add bluetooth mouse
Update and Restart took several minutes.

CHECK PREINSTALLED PROGRAMS

THUNDERBIRD
Set Up your existing email.

Clear "Keep Messages in all folders..."
and select Inbox and drafts to download.
Calendar
Tools>Add-ons and Themes> Searched for Calendar
Selected "Google Calendar Tab"   Amazingly this just pulls up my google calendar.
Address Book
Tools>Add-ons and Themes> Searched for Tbsync
Click the icon on the top bar of the program
Account Settings>Account Actions>Google Peoples API
.... Eventually this wants another add-on. 
Google-4-TbSync
This is not working

COMPUTER NAME
Windows E.  Scroll down.  Right Click on "This PC"
Click Properties.
Click "Rename this PC"
Restart

Searched Microsoft Account in the search bar on the task bar.

Office 365
Decide to use Edge for this.  Hoping that it all being Microsoft, it might just work a bit better.

By magic, I was already logged into my microsoft account.

Searched how to install office 365.

goto office.com
Bizarrely, not logged in.  Clicked on the symbol at top right and it logged me in.
Clicked "Install Apps".  --> officeSetup.exe
Clicked it.  Asked "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?" -->Yes
and it began to download it.
It seems to have finished but no sign of word or excel in the start menu.
Restart.
Run word.  It seems to know about me and has a "Get Started" button. 
Accept the license agreement.
It now seems to work.

TASK BAR
Bottom left is some distracting news icon thing.
Click on it
Select settings at the top right.
Select Show or hide feeds.  Turn Feed OFF
Widget board needs to close to make this change -> Turn OFF
Now it's showing weather.
Settings>Notifications>
Notifications --> OFF
Announcements --> OFF
Nope the weather is still there.
Right click on task bar.  > Task Bar settings>personalisation>Widgets---> OFF
