Backing up to a 6am alarm, I awoke but felt a bit yuk. Phoebe made a lovely breakfast of scrambled eggs and greens along with cucumber and tomato Turkiye style. I then lay on the couch Frankie style.
Arose and did some menial tasks like carrying bags of ski gear to the car while Phoebe made lunches. A cup of coffee and some water both helped get me feeling better. Also a couple of panadol.
We drove to Bullock's flat and took the ski tube to Perisher. Walked to the pen where the beginners practice. Observed a huge queue for the magic carpet and so we trudged to the top. Phoebe did a number of runs practising snow plough and getting better each time.
Needed a break and headed for Jax. A hot chocolate for me and hot water for Phoebe that she turned into tea.
Out for a second session.
At one point we walked to the second snow maker and Phoebe snow ploughed down with only one fall. A second attempt started poorly with an almost immediate fall. After a break sitting on the snow and she did a long run across the lower part of front valley. Tirdness was evident so we sat on the snow for a bit to recover.
Phoebe trudged to the top of the pen and I went to explore the T bar.
Several runs and we were done.
Left the slopes early.
The Perisher tube doughnuts are now 12 for $9. I think $8 last year.
A huge queue of cars stopped in the other direction. We heard on the radio that all the car parks were full - Perisher, Thredbo and Bullock's flat and that cars were being turned round at various places including Bullock's flat. The lack of car parking at the end points and the fact that the ski tube does not make it to Jindabyne is an example of the ineptitude of planning.
In the evening Phoebe cooked a beautiful lamb curry and rice. Washed down with red wine. Followed by ice cream with nuts and schnapps.
An early bed as we are both tired.
