Smiggins
Met Lewis
Very very windy. Insanely.
Dinner at Bacco. (Italian)
Up as usual at 6am
Scrambled eggs.
Loaded the gear.
Away at 7:02
At Bullock's Flat, Phoebe advised that her boots were very painful.
We experimented with adding padding and packing but in the end decided to visit Rhythm Smiggins.
We had both observed that our boots had a lot of heel space. Her boots were cutting into the bottom of her shin. I wonder why Snowboard boots are so comfortable and ski boots not so.
Lots of walk and ski. I went off on the pomma to see what it was like. Then I did a bit more exploring. Checking in from time to time with Phoebe.
Lunch on the verandah of the Smiggins hotel. Observed a huge queue inside which precluded the purchase of hot chocolate or chips. The wind was insane and Phoebe's yellow balaclava was carried away. Neither of us had the energy to chase it.
Discovered Lewis had tried to contact me. Called and established he was on his way back to Perisher. He did a U turn and came back.
After lunch, Phoebe played in the playpen. She later reported several small children blown away by the wind.
Lewis and I took the T-bar up a few times as by then all the chairs were on wind hold.
DINNER AT BACCO
Italian and very delicious. I had a Moreton bay bug thing with various other sea food delights. The Mussels, I gave to Phoebe. Lewis advised that he comes to that restaurant several times per year and always has the bugs.
