The real [embarrassing] Sunday story was for the first time ever, a parent fell out of my tinnie. It all happened so quick that I may have the facts wrong.
The story began 5 minutes earlier when Tanya and I discussed who was taking which tinnie. I asked her to throw the floor mats from her tinnie to mine for Magnus. They ended up in the front 'well'.
As the parent was getting into the tinnie, I asked him to send the mats back. I think I spoke too soon such that he was now trying to both get in and sit down and move the mats. The tinnie tipped a bit to the left and I think he grabbed the hand rail of the pontoon and that pushed the tinnie away and he dropped in.
The universe had not finished with me though.
Having gotten the man back into it tinnie and given him a dry vest, we motored off to our crew which incidentally was safe in the capable hands of an adult coach in the bow seat. I switched off the motor and that was the end of that.
The motor would start but any attempt to load it or increase the throttle and it would die. The dad and I then paddled back using the emergency oars.
While he went to have a shower, another parent and I got a second tinnie.
The universe was not finished with me. Last night the fridge had tripped the earth leakage.
Zipped home to investigate but the thing a miraculously started to work.....
Until 8pm when it tripped it all again.
