Setting Up T490S

 I have bought a second hand T490S.
$500   I5 CPU and 16GB ram.  Windows 11Pro. Touch Screen. 
Before I bought it, I searched the web to see if there was a stylus and found a page that listed compatible stylus.

Searched for office 365.  Suddenly Edge popped up a message that I am now signed into Microsoft Edge as Frank Thomson.

ANZAC dawn service 2024

Phoebe and I went into the city for the ANZAC square dawn service. 

2:40 wake up. 

3:00 leave Glenrich 

3:18 on train

3:50 standing on ANZAC square

         Man welcomes us.

4:20 catapult party starts

5:00 finished

5:20 we are walking up to look at the eternal flame

7:00 train home

7:30 Home

After the service we queued to see the eternal flame however the queue seemed stuck so we left that and went and looked at the museum under the stairs.  This is maintained by the QLD museum and they do a really great job.

Lasagne

The big question with Lasagne is making the white sauce.

I started with 100g butter and enough milk to get to within 40mm of the top of the saucepan.  It was too thin. I made a paste with another 30g butter and flour and a small amount of milk.

NEXT TIME

200g butter and fill the saucepan with milk to close to the top. Maybe 1 to 2 cm from the top.

park run

SATURDAY 20 APRIL

Running late was the order of the day. No parks. Had to drive and park in a side street. Run walk run through the park and could see the runners leaving the starting gate. Crossed the start line. I could see the trail walkers a hundred meters or so ahead. Gee'd Phoebe up and we slowly closed on them.  Finally taking them just before the first turn. 

Saw cam guy and told Phoebe to smile and run. 

Passed the 500m marker and Phoebe asked if we were half way. I think I should have said "almost" because on hearing we were 1/10th the way, she slowed to a walk. 

Wasn't long before we were running again and a new problem came into view. At times her speed was high enough to be of concern to me.  I began to wonder if perhaps she and I should do different sports. 

One of the nice things about starting last is the self-righteous thoughts as you pass the walkers. 

A friendly call of Frank and we met several neighbours from my street. 

Onward and upward and an uneventful return journey.

About 4 minutes slower but really good for Phoebe's first run and a late start.
