pre departure Roast Beef

First time trying Brisket beef. Not sure I'm particularly impressed...

Target 6pm

3am Beef in slow cooker on high. 

9am switch to low. 

2:30 turn beef upside down. 

T-1.5hrs 4:30pm Potatoes
T-1hr      5:00pm Pumpkin, Onlion, Sweet Potatoe.
Oven too hot
              5:30 made white sauce
T-15min 5:45 Cauliflower in steamer

6pm   target eat 

     

                        

GC Park Run

Phoebe and I drove down to the Gold Coast. Phoebe minded Mags while I did park run. Ran all the way. 

Congratulations on completing your 19th parkrun and your 4th at Main Beach parkrun today. You finished in 195th place out of a field of 267 parkrunners. You were the 95th male and came 7th in your age category VM60-64.  Your PB at Main Beach parkrun remains 00:37:16. Congratulations on your fastest time this year.

We then shared a Israeli egg breakfast. I posted a naughty comment on Facebook about palistinian breakfast being scrambled. 

We then took magnus to the spit. Saw lots of sailing boats heading out. 

Happiness

HAPPINESS 

Recently a friend mentioned a definition of happiness as:

Something to do, 

Someone to love, 

Something to look forward to.

Google tells me this is attributed to one Alexander Chalmers.

Pondering thoughts....

This is very much about the present and future and yet it is often the hurt of the past that drives my feelings of self worth - happiness, sadness, depression and so on.

Advice I was given once, and which I conciously implemented, was when I was feeling sad, was to try and focus on the present. The right now. To force a smile and look around me and celebrate that.

Something to do- always got plenty of that. Mind you when you are feeling down, "doing" is way hard.

Someone to Love - when I first read this, I read it as me loving someone and I mused unrequited love is just depressing. Upon rereading, I believe it's saying "having" someone to love. And for me "having", and that implies mutual connection and a whole lot more. 

Something to look forward to-- yes 😊

Dinner with Phoebe and her kids.

THURSDAY 1 FEB 2024

Dinner at Kathmandu restaurant Latrobe tce Paddington with Phoebe and two of her kids F & A. Sat on cushions on the floor. We had a selection of share plates. Very nice. 

After eating, I collected the car and P, F & A purchased ice cream from a specialist store.

Drove up Mt cootha and enjoyed the lights. It's quite spacy. Makes one feel good. 

 It was a very clear night and the lights stretched to the horizon and seemed very bright.

I had somehow gotten chocolate ice-cream on my shirt. Not just dribbled down the front but on thy collar and shoulder. Wondered if it could be a new style of clothing. Got home and put it straight in the washing machine.
