2015 GPS Head Of The River - Video

I ran a live camera from the finish line back to the Parents tent and the supporters tent.

The finish tower gets very crowded and so I built a cantilevered tripod mount.  This put my camera about 30cm out from the tower.  Enough to let me look upstream without being snookered by the other camera operators or the commentator (Who gets pride of place at the front of the queue).

Just to the right of the fellows head you can see the microwave link dishes that send the pictures back to the supporters.

For the head we had two links going back.  A 10GHz analogue link that provided a no delay option and a trial using a 5.8GHz  digital (ubiquity) link running a HTTP connection.
