tiida passenger door dismante

Someone suggested that the unlock switch would be in the passenger door.  It's not but here are some pictures anyway.

Tiida Drivers Door Dismantle

I watched this video and then dismantled the door.

No yellow wire plus I buzzed from the yellow wire to each wire in the door.

1 Lever out the control thing and also the round silver bit near the door handle.

To get the inner grey bit lift it up.

Hot air gun to soften the glue

Inside the door.  Have to remove this slide in order to get the lock out.  There is one bolt only and it is visible at the top right of the pic above.

hug

A tough consequence of EOM is no one to hug.  Aloneness is the new normal.

It's weird.  One has a set of values.  A moral compass.  A social contract.  A kind of life plan.

Then it's gone.

The moral compass spins.  The stay together promise obliterated. The realisation of one's faults- known and unknown.  Why would one ever trust a future partner to have one's back and to be there for them.

Tiida Hatch Lock Problem

06~13 NISSAN TIIDA 1.8L PETROL
2011  1.8L  C11 Tiida

THE PROBLEM
The Tiida hatch will not open

The lock mechanism is OK - Tested.
The switch is OK - Tested.

PROBLEM: There is 9V on the cold side of the switch.  Should be Ground.

HOW TO OPEN MANUALLY.
This model does not have any manual release.
Lie the two back seats down and lie into the boot space.
Use a small flat blade screw driver.  Push under the white plastic cover and push the lever to the side.

THE CIRCUIT
As far as I can see, the switch is an INPUT to the BCM and then separate outputs control the lock.

The switch is connected by a brown 2 pin connector.
The blue wire has +12V on it.
The Light brown wire has 9V on it.
Pulling the +12V line to ground initiates a hatch open.  This shows that the lock is OK and the BCM driver circuit is OK.  The problem is why is the brown wire at 9V and not ground.

The Brown wire ends up in a 16 pin connector near the drivers door pillar. In the PDF schematic I have, this is a 24 pin connector M13-B102 and shown as pin 16 of a 24 pin connector however my car has a 16 pin connector and I think it's pin 15.  A video I watched suggests that it goes to a switch in the drivers door.  I pulled the drivers door apart but the yellow wire does not go in and I could not trace it by buzzing out.  The problem is where does it go.

I think M24 is the smaller connector.

This is a 16 pin connector but the documents show it as 24pins.

My car is not like this.  I pulled the drivers door apart and there are no yellow wires and I tried buzzing from the yellow wire to every wire in the door.

Trip to Bucca

Driving to the 2022 rowing school state championships.

Jemma and I left just after 5 and went to my work to laminate some inspiration cards Jemma had made.

Lots of road works.

Stopped at Tairo at this funky retro coffee shop.

Solution through logic. Not really a word that I feel much affinity.

Heading to Bucca for the QLD schools rowing championships.

Plenty of time to think philosophically as one drives or in this case passengers.

Stopped for a coffee from a funky retro Cafe in Tyro. Affinity with the photo. I'm the foreground, some good old dial phones. Apparently when I was about 3 or 4, I investigated the family phone and dad had to call the man from the good ole PMG to come and plug all the internal wires back in. In the background a PYE black and white TV.

My car insurance rolls over in October so figured I'd get a few online quotes. Tried to put consistent info in. If possible agreed value of about $15k and about $800 excess.

Captiva insurance
RACQ $814 $750ex
Suncorp $1382 $800ex
Budget direct $1288 $800ex
Alianz $627.15 $850ex
Suncorp kind of distorted, I think because they asked if younger drivers would ever drive it even if only once where other insurers either didn't ask or included the word regular.

Preping for rowing with a tasting at the ginger beer factory.

Ski - Sunday

Today skiing with my brothers James and Henry and son Dan on snow board.  First bit like ice-skating on corrugated iron.  Apparently referred to as corduroy skiing. Hard as a rock.  In fear of crashing as it would be like hitting concrete.  Later it's wet and heavy.  Rental ski stuff as one goes across brown patches with the occasional rock or grass.

Videod a nice run

Marcus & Sophie's Engagement Party

Dan and I flew Virgin.
Ran into Chris & Kenzie at the airport and they were on Rex.
Then we ran into them again on the bus from Syd airport to Central.
