Flinders Peak

Frank,  Megan, Chris, Dan, Jemma.
7:45 dep Oxley.
Get cash.  Buy coffee.
9:00 arr parking area.
10:50 arr top.

The walk up was steeper than expected.
Chris high tailed it off ahead.
I was between Chris and Dan. Figured I would stop and wait so Dan & I could walk together. Beautiful sunny day with a light cool breeze. Perfect weather. Heart rate at T2 huffing, puffing and sweating.  Whenever we stop and I take my back pack off, my wet back gets cold and especially so when I my pack back on.

The technology plantation is so much cooler than the grassy top. Even though I like tech,  this surely is a blight on the landscape.

Rockhampton Rowing 2

Tropic of Capricorn

We went to watch Chris row in the Queensland Schools Rowing championships.

Megan had previously said she could not go because she was doing music stuff with ORFF. Money being a bit tight so I decided not to fly up. So it came as a suprise when a few days before,  Megan said let's drive up.

We departed Oxley around 3:45am.  Arrived at the rowing around 1:30pm.
It was a very easy trip with stops about every hour to give Lucy a run.

Dan & Jemma's wall

I arrived home to find Ian (Megan's dad) hard at work cutting wood.

They had to go and I (Frank) finished it off with help from chris.

It started off as two pieces of tongue & groove 2700x1200x15 CD ply.  One left at 1200 and the other cut to 650mm.  The frame routed 15mm x 15mm deep out of 70x35 pine.

Had a bit of trouble with the dimensions. Had to knock a cm or so off it in both height and width as compared to the measured dimensions.  Not sure why.

Chris did a great job of gently leading and encouraging.  I (Frank) was in the tinnie

STEM Jemma Sunscreen

Jemma has been going to a special Science Technology Engineering and Maths thing at what used to be Toowong high.

Her team won an award.

Their project was to investigate which sunscreen was most effective.

Turns out woolies 30plus. Beats some 50plus ones.
