River loop

Feeling absolutely crap last night,  went to bed early.  Woke up and wasted time watching crap on Facebook. Went back to sleep.  Woke up at 5 still feeling down and no energy. Fed the cat and around 5:30 dragged myself onto my bike to go for a ride to try and get in a better place.  Coffee from the "lost bean" which seems kind of appropriate somehow.

Christmas

It's Christmas. You know that time that's supposed to be family time.  It's the middle of the night and it just reminds me of the sad demise of my family and most significantly that there is no forgiveness in this world.

2020 - One really helpful piece of advice was "I'm depressed because I choose to feel depressed" I will let the depressed people of the world know.

I self evaluate why is it hard for people to like me.  Why is it so hard for me to love.

Waking up in a house alone. So lonely. So pointless. No energy.

Decided to go to church at St Johns Cathedral in the city.  A few milestones at St Johns. In gr10 15yo. Got confirmed.  Later mum was ordained here.

Almighty God,
to whom all hearts are open,
All desires known,
And from whom no secrets are hidden.....

My use is over.
I've donated my genes. Provided money,  a roof,  education.
No longer needed nor wanted.
I seem to wish for love but can't seem to love. Wish for company. Overshadowed maybe by fear of being dumped again.

Sunday 4am.
I've been awake for hours.
Feeling down.
Why am I what I am.
Alone. Lonely.
I go into 2021 knowing I am just there to pay money.

Christmas Ham

I am going to try to do ham for Christmas lunch.  Apparently the thing is to do a thing called "double cooking".  What is this?

Ham bone in
Cloves
Tin foil long roll

Wombok Salad

This is the wombok salad recipe that was a nice feature of 25 years of marriage.

https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/recipedetail/6622/chang-s-fried-noodle-salad

  • 1 pkt Chang’s Original Fried noodles
  • ½ - 1 Chinese cabbage (Wombok) shredded finely
  • 6 Green onions (chopped 5mm lengths)
  • 100g Lightly roasted slivered almonds or pinenuts
  • ¼ - ½ cup Chang’s Oriental fried noodle salad dressing.
  • ¼ - ½ cup olive oil (optional)

Megan(2018): "Don't put in the optional sesame oil.  You guys did not like it the time I did that"

Method

1/2 cup white vinegar
1/2 cup caster sugar
2 tablespoon Soy Sauce
1 cup olive oil

Method

1. Add chang's oriental fried noodle salad dressing and oil into a bowl, then whisk together.

2. Combine the cabbage, chopped green onions and almonds in salad bowl.

3. Add dressing and combine well. Just before serving add the fried noodles and toss thoroughly.

4. Serve with bbq chicken for a quick tasty family meal.

tip: to make a delicious meal add 300g shredded bbq chicken or bbq pork.

=====================

Yesterday I RSVP'd to the Grammarians captains lunch and said I would bring a wombok salad.  This was a lovely fresh thing that Megan discovered.  I went looking for the recipee.  Found an email deja vu.  Makes me sad in a way.

Grafton- Sunday Regatta

In contrast to Saturday, Grafton is super pleasant.

The key but subtle detail in the pictures that would normally go unnoticed is a feature called "clouds". This along with a slight breeze is creating a beautiful community atmosphere.

As well as shady trees& green grass Grafton sports such luxuries as coffee shops, pubs and a general feeling of being at one with nature.  Mind you that's easily lost if the clouds decide to move elsewhere.

The video (if I work out how to upload it) shows Jemma Thomson in the stroke seat and Lucy in the bow seat winning a race. Well done.

Grafton- Saturday night

"We" being centenary had a dinner with about 60 people at Roches Family Hotel.  To me this social aspect is an essential part of the whole rowing & club deal.

Jemma and I stayed the night in this hotel.  Its got old world charm that means no ac and shared facilities.  4m verandah and $70 for the two of us in a twin share room.

Saturday- Wyaralong

A big weekend of rowing.

Start of the day at Wyaralong with Jemma amongst others from Centenary Rowing in the "grade champs" whatever that means.  Met Jon Tannahill and Paul Prenzler from Grammarians.  Wyaralong makes me feel like I'm in some dystopian scortched earth movie and today it did not disappoint with rowing  cancelled part way through due to an over temp condition.

Jemma and I are now driving to Grafton to meet up with another group from the club and to buy a cold beer.

Toshiba Z20t looses bluetooth mouse

When I reboot my computer, it loses the wireles mouse.

I have to switch off the mouse then use the touchpad to open the bluetooth screen and switch the bluetooth on the laptop off and on again.  Then I have to turn the mouse on.

Logitech M590 Bluetooth mouse

Downloaded new driver from
http://anz.dynabook.com/support/computers/portege/z20t/pt15ba-00j00y/download

This made no difference.

Current details:
Bluetooth Device (RFCOMM Protocol TDI)
Driver Provider: Microsoft
Driver date:    21/06/2006  wow
Driver Version: 10.0.18362.1  (WinBuild 160101.0800)

Files>
C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\bthenum.sys
C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\rfcomm.sys

I wonder if I can delete the mouse and reconnect it?

Searched my computer for logitech and found a thing that said an update was ready to be installed.

Wednesday AM gym

I had the privilege of supervising the Wednesday morning gym session today.  The guy who normally runs it arranged this ages ago as he is on holidays.

These kids arrive at 5am and depart 6:30.

We did a 10 minute warm up on ergs.

Then pyramids of
Squats,
Pushups,
Situps.

Each pyramid was
Start 30 seconds + 5 sec break
Then increase 15 sec until we got to 1:30 then back down in 15 sec steps.
