International Women's Day Regatta

5 girls represented Brigidine / Centenary today at the inaugural International Women's Day regatta hosted by River City Women's.

After getting up at 4am (get that) we met at the Somerville boat shed at YERONGA at 5am.

Somerville kindly lent us a quad. There were also girls there from state high and Springwood.

There were also a number of wonens crews from round the place with eights, coxed and coxless quads competing in separate races.

After the race, a champagne breakfast. The Brigo girls restrained themselves and stuck to orange juice.

At Brigo, there had been some who were enthusiast but who missed out as I was concerned that if too many girls came then it would have been more difficult to manage things like transport. So next year, hopefully with more notice, we can take more.

Also saw a few blokes I know Andrew McNichol, Dave Cleasby, Peter Hastie, Paul Baxter. Michelle Loveday seemed to be a key organiser. It was a really enjoyment event. And now I have to go to work.
