I just need to actually verify them with my own gear.
In the mean time,
A couple of thoughts on getting started with livestreaming:
FACEBOOK
It's easy to livestream on facebook from a mobile phone with plenty of data.
Can't do from a PC! only from mobile.
Create a "group" and get members to join facebook and join that group.
Then livestream to the group using a mobile phone.
You may need to help oldies to join FB and show them how to access the group.
This is too easy and I do it ll the time live-streaming kids rowing to the Centenary and Brigidine Facebook groups and also live onto my FB feed.
YOUTUBE
You can livestream to youtube
Some old and overly complicated notes here:
https://thomsoneu.blogspot.com/2014/04/streaming-video-to-youtube.html
I live-streamed an easterfest 24 hr prayer and song service one year but cant find a blog entry. I did get a rap over the knuckles from YouTube because between groups, the sound guy put on a CD and YouTube recognised that as a copyright infringement.
I think if I was trying to livestream to youtube, I would download "vmix" I think there is a free version.

The advantage of youtube is that it is easier for people to watch because you can just give them a link to the stream.

Getting Video into a PC
Analogue - Get a analogue to USB converter. <$100 at JB HIFI
you can see an example of my one here:
https://thomsoneu.blogspot.com/2013/08/oxley-ss-play-green-room-video.html
It was called a "dazzle" but any analogue - USB device will probably work.
(This shows I am livin' in the past)
Digital TBA
USB?
HDMI->USB See "HDMI Capture", below.
Can we do wifi from a phone?
ethernet from a security camera?
Obviously SDI from a pro camera to a blackmagic SDI->USB or a desktop card is the way the pro's do it.
HDMI Capture
Note all out-of-stock. Like toilet paper I guess.
ANDROID AS CAMERA
Droidcam
www.dev47apps.com
Download the windows client.
Ran it. Cant connect by USB. But no faq on their web site.
It does work over wifi. The picture at the top left is from my phone
Make DroidCam work on USB
Get the windows drivers
https://developer.samsung.com/mobile/android-usb-driver.html
Activate developer mode on the phone.
Even when I have the Android phone connected by USB, the picture ends up with a minute or so of lag.
ENCODER
Download Open Broadcaster
https://obsproject.com/
Youtube
1. Verify Account
https://www.youtube.com/verify
2. Open Youtube Studio
https://studio.youtube.com/
Get a key. It's at the the left. Keep it secret
https://www.youtube.com/live_dashboard?nv=1
Paste it into the Open boroardcaster software
Adding a Camera ie Media Source to OBS
https://streamshark.io/obs-guide/adding-webcam
So I get it to stream. Once.
But I don't think our ADSL here at work has enough upstream bandwidth.
I just need to actually verify them with my own gear.
