Rowed in a mixed eight in a race called the "Convict Chsse" complete with orange tee shirts.
Boat was:
1 Sally
2 Rose
3 Jenno
4 Arnie
5 Madonna
6 Clare
7 Frank
8 Graham
C Sophie
On Friday we rowed the boat up to the terrace shed at Tennyson.
This made for a easy get go.
The start line was just up stream at the Oxley Sailing club.
The race went well in that the boat sat up and timing was good. Graham, in my view, did a good thing in that he announced we would start slow and build. It was a running start and we built to about 24 as we crossed the line. Over the next couple of minutes we gradually increased to 28. Occasionally 29. But it seemed to go well. The boat sat up and we seemed to have a pretty steady pace. We didn't set any records and got over taken by a couple of boats.
The advantage of having girls in the boat is they are way more social. We crossed the finish line and did a U turn and came in for breakfast. River City Women's do the best breakfasts! 😀
Breakfast started with a glass of champagne followed by a cup of Yoghurt muslie fruit and finally a ham and cheese toastie. I declined a cup cake and a green coconut ice. Sugar before rowing did not feel like something I wanted.
Then back in the boat. We rowed down stream to west end. Washed the boat and then put it away in the BGS shed.
