Security Cameras

I need to put security cameras up as Lucy is coming to stay for a couple of weeks and if she jumps the fence, I need to know where.

I would like to use software that can connect to cameras from a range of manufacturers.  Rather than a dedicated system in a box.

Raspberry Pi Below

Anycam
https://anycam.io/                 No App  CANT VIEW EVEN WITH BROWSER
I dont think it can push off site to the cloud.
at least these guys are upfront honest on their front page with pricing
4 cameras $43 ( USD I assume).  8 cameras is $54
I can connect to the cameras using RTSP.
To set when to record, start the application then
Click bottom right "view Recordings"
Then the icon with 3 sliders "Change Settings"
Click the recording tab and wallah Choose "Start Recording" ...
On motion is not available on the free version and  there does not seem to be an AI find people or even better dogs option.
Records in MP4 format.

AGENTDVR    ISPY is the flagship name but what other options are there.  Ispy shows up all over the internet along with words like open source but it is discontinued and also they direct you to use a program called agentDVR.  Subscription is $70/yr for 1pc and cloud services (I wonder if that it storage and I wonder how many cameras)

It runs but even with one camera, I am getting the CPU at near 100%.

UNINSTALL:  AgentDVR does not appear in ControlPanel>Programs and features.
https://www.ispyconnect.com/userguide-agent-dvr.aspx
Windows: double click agent-uninstall-service.bat in the C:/Program Files/Agent directory. Right click and quit the AgentTray application in the task bar.
To remove Agent DVR just delete the Agent directory (it is a portable application so doesn't install into the add/remove programs list in Windows). By default Agent DVR is installed to C:\Program Files\Agent on Windows.

Blue Iris,
$122.30AUD upto 64 cameras

We seem to be at 100%CPU even with only 2 cameras.

I thought I had set to record continuously but only seem to have motion record.

Two cameras but I do not see two timelines

Cant get the PTZ to work on the reolink camera

Video files stored in a custom format with a .bvr extension.

I am finding it hard to know if the screen is showing live view or playback. - OK both (presumably all) playback together.

Camcloud
Not a PC program.  Cameras direct to cloud.  Hmm. And no pricing.

ivideon
Not sure if this is a PC product.  They mention a "Bridge" which maybe a gateway to cloud processing.

ManyCam
I dont think this is a security camera recording app.

Pricing depends on number of cameras AND resolution.  $79/yr for 2 devices whatever that is and 50 sources at 4k

Milestone,
I suspect for big customers

NETCAM STUDIO
https://www.netcamstudio.com/
Free: 2 Cameras.  Watermark.
$USD49  : 4 cameras No watermark.
$US75     : 16 Cameras
$US99     :  64 Cameras
Both the concord and reolink cameras connect but I keep getting drop outs as if there are packet errors.
Cant work out how to control the reolink PTZ
There is no app on the playstore but I see an app on their web page.
Their web page indicates it can interface with drop box and google drive.
I cant work out how to replay videos or how to allocate disk space or even where the video is stored.

Digital WatchDog, r

Perfect Surveillance
No info that I can find on pricing.
There seem to be three separate products - viewer, recorder  & ?

Sighthound Video,

Security Eye
It does not say anywhere I can find on their web page what the costs are.
Ahh but now a pop up that says "you are using a trial version of security eye"
Limited to two hours per session...
1 camera is $67 AUD, 2 is $84, 8 is $151.
In any case, I could not get it to accept video from a Concord camera even though I explicitly defined the RTSP stream and using exactly the same stram could view it on VLC.

SecuritySpy,
For MAC

Synology,
Note sure what this is

QNAP,

IP Cam Viewer,

TinyCam,

Evocam, etc.

XEOMA
http://felenasoft.com/xeoma/en   8 cameras $190
Free updates for a year.  Plus I think there is a small per month charge for remote access.

YouCam
I do not think this is a security camera recorder.  I think it processes your video between the cameras an zoom/teams

ZONEMINDER.COM
Claims free and open source and you are in control of your data.  Hmm sounds too good to be true.  lets see.   And it's for Linux.  And they have a pricing page so I am not sure how free it is.

CONCORD CNC51DPA
ERROR:
The plugin does not support this browser.
Please use the following browser:
1.  Internet Explorer 8 and above.
2. Firefox 51 and below.
3.  Google Chrome 44 or lower.

Now I think I have seen this before.
Possibly need NPAPI plug in which I think is Flash and was removed around V53
my firefox is version 110

================================

A REPLACEMENT CAMERA

jaycar have a 7 day returns policy and so I took back the camera that would not work and got a new one.  Different part number and $50 more expensive.

IPSCAN to find it's IP address then use the browser.

Click "Advanced" even though in this universe, we know next to nothing.

Then click accept the risk.

Then it seemed to get stuck.  Rebooted the PC and it starts to behave logically.

Now we failed to connect with "Security Eye" so figured we would diverge a bit and test making a RTSP connection and it worked.  Opened on VLC using rtsp://10.0.0.102:554/ch01/0

RASPERRY PI

https://github.com/geerlingguy/pi-nvr

Shinobi is an Open Source CCTV solution that will install on that raspberry PI device and use it as a NVR software solution
Except there are charges for some aspects.

https://www.pinvr.net/  Free for personal use.  NOT Available.  No files for download.

MotionEyeOS
https://github.com/motioneye-project/motioneyeos/wiki

Nx Witness or Nx Meta for Raspberry Pi - No idea about pricing.

Zoneminder - On PI seems hard.  I would have thought someone would have built a image.

Moonfire NVR
https://github.com/geerlingguy/pi-nvr  - Does not seem to have a integrated image available.

OS-NVR

GIT HUB
When I went to download the motion eye image, it was in format .img.xz
I wonder what that is.  Looks like 7-zip on windows can extract it.
