Flashpoint is this sunday.
These are my notes.
John 4:5-42 the woman at the well.
Note that if one actually reads the bible, there is nothing derogatory said about the woman. There is no suggestion that she is a prostitute for example. We are told that she has had 5 husbands and that the man she is currently living with is not her husband. Jesus does not mention sin nor does he call for repentance. So I guess he did not see that as the important message here.
The first really obvious thing is that Jesus talked to her. A samariain woman. Normally Jews did not talk to Samaritan women. Jesus did.
-> Talk to everyone.
-> Live life the way God want's it and not by the rules of the world at the time.
The Message in a nut shell could be
We all need water to drink but we need to keep drinking it or we become thirsty again.
Jesus offers 'water' for those who are thirsty on a spiritual journey.

Put food colouring in water. Stand a cut carnation in the water. Watch the Carnation change colour. Takes a day.
Paper Cup of water
Cup of water and a card upside down - Really more of a trust thing
Baloon of water will not pop - The water inside the balloon gives the baloon strength to resist the flame.
Could go to town on this one with a fire and brimstone visit to the hobs of hell.

I wonder if there is a well anywhere that we could go and see?
