Microsoft Office for Windows XP

We have two computers here at work that run Windows XP that are connected to some dedicated test hardware and run custom software that only runs under XP so upgrading the computer to Win 8 is not an option.

These two machines were recently reimaged and I need to put office on them.  Tried Open Office but it messes with the formatting and frustrates the staff.

So now I have to determine:
a) What versions of Microsoft Office will run on XP
and
b) Where to buy.
c) Licensing

A) VERSION
It would seem that we need Office 2010.

LICENSING
How do I buy an old version? - It appears on Umart and GoComp web sites.  So Yes.
Can I just buy the current version and use the key? - No.  I phoned the Microsoft store and they said "No"!

OFFICE 2010
Umart
Microsoft Office Professional 2010 Retail Pack for 2PC   $499

OFFICE 2013
The Microsoft web site indicates that there are currently 4 versions.
Office 365 Home premium,    $119
Home & student, $169
Office Home and Business  $299   <- br="" i="" is="" licensing="" need="" one="" think="" this="" we="" what="" wise.="">
Office Pro.   $599

And right down at the bottom of the page "Compatible with Windows 8.1, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, or Windows Server 2012. Does not run on Windows XP or Vista."
