VMIX Downstream Key Issue

I want to key text over video as I record it on the fly.  The big picture plan is here.

The plan is to injest the camera into my laptop.  Use VMIX to key on the text and then record to the SD card on the laptop.

As a test, I created a Power Point slide.  16x9.  Black background.  White text that reads "This is a test"

Then into VMIX, I loaded last weeks video file that had the text added in post production and added the powerpoint presentation as a second input and set it to key over.

PROBLEM:
There is black surrounding the white text as highlighted in the second picture.
SOLUTION - See below

The top line is what I want.

The second line shows what I get from VMIX.

The problem is the black stuff that surrounds the lettering

This is the overlay setup window:

VMIX TITLE DESIGNER Beta
Vmix has a snazzy new title designer.  In Beta so we are gentle and forgiving.
It does the job.  Much clearer from a video output perspective.
Some difficulties (See below)

This works well from a video standpoint.  On the bottom line, the words on the left "Yr 10 1st Quad..." were already on the test video.

The words "...test 72 Arial Bold" were added using VMIX and the VMIX title designer.

PROBLEM #1
White font in title designer.  Too hard.

PROBLEM #2
Right justified text gives grief.  The edit area does not line up with the text.  The work around is to set to left justify.  Then click outside the text box and then click back inside.

Problem 2b - The grab handles for stretching the box horizontally vanish when the box is set to right justify.

SOLUTION VMIX Power Point Down Stream Key

The procedure I found to get chroma key to work with Black is below.
The green works more easily.

PP WITH GREEN BACKGROUND
1
Starting with all sliders fully to the left and all check boxes cleared.
2
Set the "Colour Key" check box (and note the aussie spelling)
Observe the Check Box colour square turns black and back on the VMIX output we get the PP slide green background and white text
3
Click the "Auto Chroma Key" button
Observe the sliders and things move and on the VMIX output we get the white text keyed correctly over the source footage.

PP WITH BLACK BACKGROUND:
1
Starting with all sliders fully to the left and all check boxes cleared.
2
Set the "Colour Key" check box (and note the aussie spelling)
Observe the Check Box colour square turns black and back on the VMIX output we get overlaid white text but with black fury edges.
3
Click the "Auto Chroma Key" button
Observe the sliders and things move and the chroma key output stops working.
4
Drag the Chroma Key Slider all the way to the left.
Wolla it works.
