Rowing Videoing

Sometimes I video the school rowing.  Example here
http://youtu.be/gJwm_fiHl2c

At present I record on CD card and add the text later.

It would be nice to feed the camera live into a PC and add the text in real time.  There are several minutes between races so plenty of time to type new captions.  I am thinking of using VMIX.

A bonus would be to have a second camera and connect it up by microwave link.

 Todo List
Get HDMI into PC.
Wireless extend HDMI
Downstream key from PP
Record to SD Card.

PLAN A
1  Download and install VMIX - done
2. Use an analogue to USB converter to be the "interface" - Done used a Pinacle "dazzle"
3. Get VMIX to overlay text and record to SD card. - Done
4. Type the race info into PP with green screen.

PC at finish line - Camera operator uses it.  Power available.
PC at tent - Need power and person

4. Try to then somehow send the video across the LAN to a second PC running VMIX.  Even just use the web cam on one PC to send the picture by ethernet to Vmix.
5.  Stream a video file across the microwave link at work to see if that works.
6.  Borrow Marty's HDMI to Thunderbolt converter and try that as the video injester.

Wireless HDMI

It would appear that there are low latency products that send HDMI over the air.
Some at 5.8GHz
Some at 60GHz.
Neither has much range.  I need about 500m pref 1000m to include some margin.
Perhaps we buy the cheapies and add a small dish antenna?
Or a 60GHz amp
