I'll take this as Luke 14:1-14
From 1-7 Jesus is challenging people about the rule of "don't work on the Sabbath" He talks about retrieving animals that have fallen down wells and healing sick people and doing it because it has to be done.
7-14 has a story about being invited to a dinner and a warning not to sit at the bast place near the guest of honour because you may be embarrassed if asked to move for someone of a higher stature.
The warning is that those who big note themselves will be humbled and vis versa. It concludes with an encouragement to invite those who can not repay you.
OK so what do we distill this down to for the kids.
Do be humble.
