Fathers Day Walk at Cunninghams Gap

What do you want for Fathers Day?
Well a Porshe or actually a very nice Audi convertible would be nice.  Given we can afford such indulgences and I do not really want a $30 plastic action man toy.
So I figured the list was
1  A new battery Drill.
2  Canoeing down the river.
3  Walk up a hill at Cunninghams Gap.

Picked #3 because I figured canoeing would be better when it's a bit warmer and given the effort, it would be nice to invite others along and that requires notice.  So Walk at Cunninghams Gap.

This could be the plan but it is 4hrs with one fit guy and goes to bare rock.

The orange line took some fellow 4 hours.

  • Distance: 6.8 km return
  • Time: Allow about 2.5 hrs walking time
  • Caution: Limited group access. For your safety, 10 people per group recommended on the Mount Cordeaux track and lookout.
  • Details: Mount Cordeaux (1135 m) is known to Aboriginal people as 'Niamboyoo'. Branching off the Rainforest circuit, the track zigzags through rainforest to the exposed upper slopes, ending at a lookout on the southern side. The cliff face of Mount Cordeaux is spectacular in spring when the giant spear lilies Doryanthes palmeri are in flower.
