Sherwood UC has two video projectors. One at the front for the congregation to see and one at the back for the minister etal to see.
Many years ago, Tim S built a box to control them. Recently it had all stopped working.
Tim called to ask if I would help.
I was very happy to go to his place to look at the box.
Eventually we decided we needed to go to the church to see if there was a problem there. That was an emotional baggage trigger for me. Went anyway.
First off located a broken wire in a D9 gender bender. Wow isn't that a now un pc term.
Fixed that by soldering a new plug on the wire that had the wrong gender plug. However I still could not control the rear projector.
Today Friday 31 March,
We temporarily installed a new D9 cable. Initially that did not work. I was following the projector manual that said the comms was at 38400bps. I thought I'd try 9600 and it worked.
In the end the issue was, Tim had thought there was a issue with his box and had changed the CPU chip and installed a program that followed the documentation AND the documentation was wrong AND there had been a broken wire.
