Departure Day

TUESDAY 13
This was the day to fly.

Breakfast coffee with Ben. Took Magnus as this will be my last walk with her for a while.

The last few nights I've not slept well. Stress. Been busy getting the Insolution dose going. The main distraction has been to get threaded poly pipes to seal at 100PSI. Too little Teflon tape and of course it leaks. Too much and the tape bunches up and does not fill in the threads either. This meant I did not get the time or brain space to line up the other parts of the system.

After coffee, laid clothes out on the lounge room table. Packed bag. Wrote to do list.

Drove into work, checked with Sarah, last email to the Grammarians. Shut down computer. Drove to airport. Picked up Henry. Visited Henry's friends. Home. Lunch of reheated Lasagne.

Loaded bag and back pack into car. Henry and I went over to Mt ommonous. Battery pack, pants, vacuum clothes bags.

Over to work. Dan took the wheel and we were off the airport. It's pretty much a ghost town. No queues. The emerates booking clerk sounded like she was from Austria. She rearranged our seating so we had 4 seats.

Through passport control.

Now I can relax. There is nothing more I can do as far as work is concerned.

Off to the Qantas club.
Red wine, scotch, pumpkin soup, rice and stuff. Took a few selfies. Checked social media.

Observed that the architect had tastefully positioned seats so that those who have a little more can look down on those with a little less and both can observe themselves relative to the other.

On board and its pretty much as good as zoo class can be. The entertainment system claims 1000 movies. The fellow behind me had a bit of a tanty when I leaned my seat back. Unfortunately one can not lock it half way.

Dinner was lamb and baked potatoes. All good but a less than stellar bun.

Watched
Asteroid city.
Oppenheimer.
