Theology On Tap

I'm at the Lord Stanley pub doing PA for a discussion group called "Theology on Tap".

The guest Speaker is a doctor who was born, educated and first practiced in India. He moved from India to Australia and is a maternity doctor.

He made what i found to be an interesting observation about Australia. In India he was free to talk about his [christian] faith. In Australia, not so.

We think we are a free country but when we think about it, there are very loud voices shouting keep your opinion to yourself.

Somewhat ironic when you think about it.

And the result is the PC pendulum seems to have moved from people being free to say what they think to one of say nothing unless you are reiterating the currently prevailing popular view. Otherwise I might be offended.

The irony being that all these noisy perveors of free speech are clambering for the importance of staying silent.

After the talk, Had dinner at L.S. with Lex and his wife.
The PA came from David.

Notes for next time:
HDMI or VGA extension lead so the lectern can be to the left of the screen.
Some kind of cover to block the light from the downlight that sprays light on the screen.  Maybe a bit of steel (milo tin lid)  and a magnet or some tape.
