Late in the afternoon turned out, by good luck, to work well - no queues and sunlight highlighting the building beautifully.

Lots of signs encouraging us to buy tickets on line but the app was too confusing so we bought at the ticket office. Saved €1.50. 16€ entry.

The place was huge. Humungus. If you've got a big God then it seems appropriate to have a big church. 

Inside was big as noted and partitioned in a way that kind of restricted how and where one walked.

To get to the roof we had to walk up stairs. Lots of them. A square spiral staircase that had me huffing and puffing.
