Took forever to get out of the flat this morning. Finally getting on bus around 10:30. Megan was quite morose. She later advised that the issue was that she did not have a plan for the day rather than the time lateness that I had assumed - my bad.
Train to Amsterdam. First on the agenda was a tour of Ajax stadium.
Fully enclosed with retractable roof. They have sensors in the turf to measure moisture. Sun lamps on big wheel thing.
54000 capacity.
Lunch@2pm in a stadium cafe. Was pretty reasonably priced. Dan & I had very nice hamburgers and chocolate thick shakes. Eu50
Metro train Waterloo STN to look at the 7 bridges. Along the way booked tickets on one of those narrow canal boats to look at the light installations.
After taking photos and counting bridges, we walked past various things of interest.

It's very hard to get an idea of how steep the seating is in this stadium.
Check out the sun lamps growing the grass.
The home team change rooms were luxurious. The visitors very spartan. The effort to put the visitors off starts in this way.
This is the security control room. They reckon, in an emergency, they can get everyone out in 10 minutes.
These things are gas heaters (not foldback!)
