Took the train to The Hague. It's a city. The highlight was the Escher gallery. You may recall Escher. He did those drawings that mesmerised you and got you through history.
Then a bus to "The Peace Palace". Big disappointment. No tours. Walk around a visitor's centre.
A bus to the beach. Now what could be better than that. Well I don't think a Dutch beach in December when it's raining is the place to be.
Walked out on the pier and Megan Thomson finally found some Dutch food. We ended up with a very nice bowl of soup - now we see where Paul Fam Koning gets his soup skills. A nice deep fried cheese platter. Very ordinary poffertjies and Luke warm hot chocolate.
Staged a photo with the soup where all 4 of us tucked in with spoons. Only Dan didn't. Reminded me when we used to go to real Aussie beaches and share a 2L tub of blue ribbon.
